Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Waqf-e-Jadid

Q:  What is ‘Total Tajneed’ on the Waqf-e-Jadid report form?
A:  It is the sum total of all the Lajna residing in your majlis.

Q:  Can a WJ pledge be taken from an inactive member?
A:  No.

Q:  Can WJ contribution be taken from an inactive member?
A:  Yes, but with the following conditions:
 

If it is from a working member, then the amount received would be applied toward Chanda Aam first  
If it is from a non-working member, then apply it toward Lajna dues first.  The remaining will go toward WJ
  This Lajna's participation in WJ in terms of $ amount or participation numbers will not be counted if her contribution is less than Lajna dues

Q:  How do we report the Waqf-e-Jadid chanda collected on behalf of a deceased relative?
A:  The dollar amount will be reflected in the Total Collected.  However, the number of people who ‘Participated’ will only include members of the local tajneed.

Q:  In whose name will the receipt be issued for Waqf-e-Jadid payment made on behalf of a deceased relative?
A:  The receipt will be issued in the name of the person making the payment.

Q:  What is the Pledge Report?
A:  The Pledge Report, due on April 30th, is the report that must include the pledges of all the members who participated in the previous WJ year.

Q:  What is the Semi-Annual Report?
A:  The Semi-Annual Report, due on August 31st, is the report that must include the pledges of all the members.

Q:  Can the WJ secretary email the report directly?
A:  No.  Reports must be submitted on GoogleDoc whose link is provided to the Local Lajna Sadr and WJ secretary.

Q:  Can the report be filled out by hand and mailed via postal service?
A:  No.  Please be sure to submit reports on GoogleDoc
