Lajna Ima’illah USA held its 8th annual Lajna Mentoring Conference 2011 at Masjid Bait-uz-Zafr, Queens, NY from March 25th –March 27th. Alhamdolillah, this conference was attended by an estimated number of 230 Lajna members, including the National Amilah, Regional Sadrs, and Local Sadrs with their approved delegates representing, almost all the Majalis. 
 

The conference served as platform for collective learning, working towards common goals and enhancement of sisterhood. It is hoped and prayed that the training received at the conference will reach all sisters everywhere in the US.

Concluding Remarks By National Sadr Lajna Ima'illah USA:

Respected Sadr Sahiba's concluding remarks included expression of her deep gratitude to the Hosts of this event and acknowledgement of their hard work in efforts to make this program a success. 
 

Sadr Sahiba recited verse 258 from Sura Al-Baqarah of the Holy Quran:  "Allah is the Friend of those who believe; He brings them out of all kinds of darkness into light..."

Sadr Sahiba's message - Success comes with:

  • Courage to follow the commandments of Allah
  • Sacrifice–to give up our ego desires, and make those inner changes
  • Truthfulness- to be honest and truthful in every situation

In this mentor conference we recognized our dear sister Dr Shanaz Butt Sahiba for her long and dedicated service to the Jamaat as Sadr Lajna USA for the past ten years. Sadr Sahiba mentioned some of the ways she had contributed with Allah’s Grace, providing us with valuable tools for the benefit of the Jamaat...

Dr Shanaz was presented with a handmade quilt – made by a Lajna member of Miami- and a book in which members had written notes of fond appreciation and gratitude.
