??     FREQENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT TEHRIKE JADID    ??

Q:     What is the Pledge Report?
A:     It is the report due February 20th, on Report Form A, that must include the pledges of all the Active members for that Tehrike Jadid year and the pledges from the previous TJ year.

 
Q:    What is the semiannual report?
A:    It is the report due on May 31st, on Report Form A, that must include the pledges of all the Active members and the amount of collection to date.
 

Q:    What is the Annual report?
A:    It is the final report due on November 15th, on Report Form A, that must include all the pledges of all the active members and the amount of all the collection.
 

Q:    Can a Lajna receipt be issued for Tehrike Jadid?
A:     No. Tehrike Jadid is a Jamaat chanda and only a Jamaat receipt can be issued.
 

Q:    Can Lajna get a Jamaat receipt book?
A:     Yes.  Lajna Sadr should request Jamaat Sadr for one. Collected chanda should be given to Jamaat Tehrike Jadid Secretary.
 

Q:    What is ‘Total Tajneed’ on the Tehrike Jadid report form?
A:    Total Tajneed for the purposes of Tehrike Jadid, is the sum total of all the active Lajna, active Nasirat, and  active Children under age seven residing in your majlis.
 

Q:    What is an active Member?
A:    Active Lajna are the following:

  • Working members who pay chanda Aam  or Hissa Amad (Chanda  Wasiyat) 
  • Those who pay Lajna dues (working members must pay 1% of their income)
  • Those who have special permission not to pay chanda Aam or Lajna dues.

         Active Nasirat are the following:

  • Those who pay Nasirat dues 
  •  Daughters of active Lajna

         Active children under seven are the sons and daughters, under the age of seven, of active Lajna.
 

Q:    Can a Tehrike Jadid pledge be taken from an inactive member?
A:     No.
 

Q:    Can Tehrike Jadid contribution be taken from an inactive member?
A:     No.
 

Q:    Can Tehrike Jadid chanda be given on behalf of a deceased relative?
A:    Yes.

Q:    How is Tehrike Jadid chanda collected on behalf of a deceased relative reported?
A:    The dollar amount will be reflected in the Total Collected.  However, the number of people who participated will only include members of the local tajneed. A note should be made if collection from a deceased person is included.
 

Q:    In whose name will the receipt be issued for Tehrike Jadid payment made on behalf of a deceased relative?
A:    The receipt will be issued in the name of the person making the payment, unless an active member code in the name of the deceased relative exists.
 

Q:     What if a Lajna member’s husband pays for her directly to Jamaat?
A:  If a Lajna member’s Tehrike Jadid chanda is paid by her husband directly to the Jamaat Secretary, please suggest that her husband writes hers/ Nasirat/under 7’s share amount on the back of the check. Lajna member should inform Lajna Tehrike Jadid secretary of amounts.

 
Q:  Can the TJ secretary email the report directly?
A:    Yes, after the Sadr has seen and approved it.  Be sure to copy the local and the regional Sadrs.
 

Q:    What is Form B for?
A:     Form B should be filled by local Tehrike Jadid secretary and kept by the local Sadr for her records.
