2014 Upstate Northeast Regional Ijtema

By the Grace of God, the Upstate Northeast Region held their Regional Ijtema in BaitulNoor Mosque, Albany NY on the theme “Meeting the Messiah”.Sadr Lajna Imai’llah,Saliha Malik Sahiba, presided over the event. On June 14, 2014 Syracuse Lajna hosted 1st Women's Interfaith Event. The topic was Meeting the Messiah of Your Community. Presenters were asked to speak on the teachings about the Messiah in their faith.  The meeting started

National Sadr Lajna delivers Sunday Sermon at Unitarian Universalist Church in Canton, Massachusetts

By the Grace of Allah on Sunday March 10th, 2013, the National President of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, USA (Sadr Lajna) Saliha Malik delivered a moving address on the “Role of Women in Islam” during the Sunday service at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Canton, Massachusetts. The service commenced with the ringing of the Paul Revere Bell at 10:20AM, after which Reverend Beverly Boke, the resident Pastor, warmly welcomed the guests of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. She said “I want to offer a very warm welcome to our neighbors and friends who have joined us today from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.” [Read more] 

 

Lajna Ima’illah Boston attend Sunday service at the
First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church

As part of an on-going tabligh series in the Boston Chapter, members of Lajna Ima’illah and Nasirat-ul-Ahmadiyya attended a Sunday service at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Canton,
Massachusetts on Sunday the 3rd December 2012.

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community received a very warm welcome from Pastor Beverly Boke in her welcome address in which she said: “I want to offer a very warm welcome to our neighbors and friends who have joined us today from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. I have invited them as part of an on-going dialogue to promote understanding and develop greater bonds as fellow passengers on this journey of life.”... [Read more]

Lajna Ima’illah, Boston Chapter initiates a Mosque Beautification Project.

On Sunday, September 16th, 2012 members of Lajna Ima’illah, Boston Chapter met at Bait- ul Nasr, their local mission house to clean the mosque. However what started out as routine cleaning, very quickly grew into a larger mosque beautification project. The day started with Lajna members scrubbing the bathrooms, and reorganizing the storage
cupboards, which lead on to a complete overhaul of the Nasirat room. [Read more]

Civic/ law enforcement and religious leadership applaud Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s efforts to serve humanity

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Boston Chapter hosted an auspicious Ramadan interfaith dinner, on August 17 2012, inviting civic and religious leadership. The event was attended by over 150 guests that came from Sharon/Canton Police Department, Fire Department, American Red Cross, multiple Christian churches and trusts, Hindus Sikhs and Muslim organizations. Attendees of the event applauded the effort by the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, whose guiding principle is "Love for All Hatred for None", to gather leading communities of the greater Boston area... Sharing Feast, Fasting Traditions, and Forging new Friendships

Fasting—abstaining from food, and water, or certain kinds of foods – for a period of time, is a common form of worship in the Abrahamic tradition. Fasts are often related to holy days in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.Ramadan is the month when Muslims fast; refraining from drinking and eating from dawn until dusk. Boston Lajna | Khidmate Khalq Report – Serving the homeless
 

On Sunday 29th January 2012 as a Khidmate Khalq initiative, Lajna Ima’illah Boston hosted a community meal at the Boston Rescue Mission Soup Kitchen, a non-profit homeless and rehabilitation shelter. Five Christian men and women founded the center in 1899, who decided to dedicate their lives to helping the poor and homeless of inner city Boston. Today, the Boston Rescue Mission is run on an entirely volunteer basis under the directives of Reverend John Samaan and offers extensive resources to prevent and end homelessness as well as provide longitudinal rehabilitation programs against substance abuse, incarceration and homelessness.

The conference served as platform for collective learning, working towards common goals and enhancement of sisterhood.

 

‘United we stand’ – ‘Love for All – Hatred for None’

 

Muslim, Jewish and Christian children combine their efforts to bring hope to the community.

Around 150 Children from Congregation Agudat Achim Jewish Community, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, St. Luke’s,  St. Joseph’s and St. Helen’s Roman Catholic churches, came together for an ‘interfaith Service Workshop’ on Monday, November 15th 2010 at Notre Dame – Bishop Gibbons school. Children presented their faith communities and  lead in prayer from each faith tradition, shared desert together and made Thanksgiving placemat for Bethesda House, City Mission and Salvation Army.

Upstate North East Region Ijtema!


A regional Ijtema was held in Hartford, CT.A workshop on pledge was held keeping our theme in mind “Truthfully following Allah’s commandments in The Holy Quran for women.”

An interesting workshop about Marriage and domestic Violence was presented. Tehrik-e Jadid presentation and culture VS religion workshop were also part of our program.

Nasirat Quran and Poem Competitions were held. CPR Certification class BY RED CROSS was held. Youth and Lajna members participated and were given certificates. The youth had an outing to Yankee Candle making company.

Another Regional Ijtema and youth program were held in Syracuse, NY. Workshops on “the purpose of our creation” and Attaining closeness to Allah” were conducted. Members took part in a quiz on Tehrik-e-Jadid and general knowledge.The Youth took a trip to the MOST Museum in Syracuse and enjoyed an IMAX documentary.A Nasirat Tarbiyyat Camp was held by Hartford Lajna. The purpose for the Nasirat was to learn Quran, Salat and history of Islam and Ahmadiyyat.
